One day trip to amritsar

In month of june we planned to go amritsar

It was a great day. First time I was going to Amritsar .Me and my friend got up early in the morning and get ready.Our another friends were waiting outside. soon we moved from chandigarh.It was great fun on the way.they all people are south Indian and they are also going to amritsar first time.

On the way i thought them to speak in Punjabi and tell them why we called amritsar as religious place and what are famous place in amritsar . we have reached amritsar with in 5 hours. first we were going to golden temple which is also called as hariminder sahib

Golden Temple: golden temple was built by the fourth Sikh guru, Guru Ramdaas Sahib Ji, in the 16th Century. the harimandir sahib literally means the 'Temple of god'.

There are four doors to get into the Harmandir Sahib, which symbolize the openness of the Sikhs towards all people and religions.

The Gurdwara is surrounded by a large lake or holy tank, known as the Sarovar, which consists of Amrit (holy water) and is fed by the Ravi River.

The only restrictions on the Harmandir Sahib's visitors concern their behavior when entering and while visiting:

    • Upon entering the premises, removing one's shoes (leaving them off for the duration of one's visit) and washing one's feet in the small pool of water provided;
    • Not drinking alcohol, eating meat, or smoking cigarettes or other drugs while in the shrine
    • Wearing a head covering
  • If you choose to listen to Gurbani, one must also sit on the ground while in the Darbar Sahib as a sign of deference to both the Guru Granth Sahib and God.

After praying in golden temple we move on jallianwala bhagh which is near to golden temple.

jallianwala bhagh:

jallianwala bhagh is a public garden in Amritsar. which is establish in 1951 to commemorate the massacre by British occupying forces of peaceful celebrators on the occasion of the Punjabi New Year on April 13, 1919.

After wondering the bhagh we all got very tried and feeling hungry.on of my friend who is from amritsar take us a resturant where we eat amritsar'kulche cholle.kulche cholle is famous food of amritsar and it have great taste with lassi.after having lunch we planned to go wagah boder. we reached to wagah border with in one hour from amritsar. it was very hot day.there was lot of crowed. At 4'clock the gate was opened and one by one we entered into the gate. there was stairs where we sat down. there was one gate between pakistan army and indian soliders. soon the parade start.

Wagah border This ceremony takes place every evening before sunset at the Wagah border, which as part of the Grand Trunk Road was the only road link between these two countries before the opening of the Aman Setu in Kashmir in 1999. The ceremony starts with a blustering parade by the soldiers from both the sides, and ends up in the perfectly coordinated lowering of the two nations' flags

After watching the prade we click some pics with indian slodiers.it was really funny momement when ask them to click pics with us.

At 8'clock we move on from amritsar .It was really amazing day.
